The Magnolia Collection was designed to be a neutral floral that works with almost any color palette. It fits a farmhouse kitchen, a cottage home that feels a little more gathered and collected, even a more modern space.
It’s also a collection meant to be used. Not packed away when the season changes, and not limited to one room. By changing the florals, faux or fresh, linens, and smaller details around it, Magnolia moves easily from the brighter days of summer into the warmer colors of autumn.

In summer, I pair the Magnolia canisters, tea towels, and glass cutting boards with blue-and-white flowers, natural wood, and a few vintage pieces.
The canisters keep everyday baking ingredients right at hand, oatmeal, shredded coconut, sea salt, baking powder, baking soda. Behind the glass cupboard doors, I keep chocolate chips and the smaller things I’d never want sitting out in a bag. When they’re in something pretty, those everyday ingredients become part of the decor too.

This same spot works just as well as a breakfast or brunch buffet. Small canisters hold blueberries and jam. Glass cutting boards become serving boards, and a Magnolia tea towel lines the bread basket. Even butter feels special in a small canister. Leave it out on the counter for a bit of everyday decor, or let it wait in the fridge, where opening the door to a pretty butter dish is its own small kind of joy.

For autumn, I leave the Magnolia pieces in place and change what surrounds them. Warmer flowers, darker wood, rich ribbon, and a small velvet pumpkin give the nook an autumn look without starting over. I like tucking trays and cutting boards into a basket, or even an old sewing machine drawer, it works beautifully for this layered, cozier look.

I shared the full summer-to-fall swap for this exact spot in an earlier post, Magnolia Through the Seasons, A Baking Nook Refresh, if you’d like to explore more.
Magnolia mugs, coasters, and a small canister are pieces I use in the coffee nook all year long. Sugar lives in the small canister, coffee beans in the larger one, both within easy reach.
For summer, I bring in blue-and-white flowers and lighter accessories. When autumn arrives, I swap those for warmer florals, terracotta pots, and deeper colors.

A tray helps keep the coffee essentials together, while still leaving room for a lamp, framed art, or something seasonal. It’s a small change, but it gives the whole corner a different feeling.
This is also where layering does the most work. Try raising a piece up on a small riser (I’ll link my DIY ones here), or even a small stack of books. Different heights, different textures, different layers, that’s what makes it feel complete.
I wrote more about styling this space in A Simple Coffee Corner for Fall Mornings.
The smaller Magnolia pieces are especially useful when setting the table. A small canister makes a pretty butter dish, left out on the counter for a bit of everyday decor, or waiting in the fridge, where opening the door to a pretty butter dish is its own small kind of joy. It also works beautifully as a serving jar for pickles and olives. Trivets can hold oil and vinegar bottles, protect the table from warm dishes, or add another layer of color beneath serving pieces.

In summer, I keep the table lighter with blue, white, and natural textures. For autumn this year, I added creamy linens, and added warmth with pumpkins, and deeper wood tones and placemats. The Magnolia pieces work with both, which is exactly what I wanted this collection to do.
In the living room, the Magnolia pillows stay while the throws and flowers change around them. Blue accents make the room feel fresh for summer. Warm brown throws and autumn florals give the same chairs a completely different look for fall.

Any little side table deserves to be useful. An engraved Magnolia tray, mug, and coasters turn the table between the chairs into exactly that. It’s one more way to carry the collection into a new room, a simple place to sit with coffee, or curl up with a good book, no matter the season.
I also use Magnolia in a few less expected places. In the entryway, canisters hold keys, lip gloss, hair ties, the little things we reach for on the way out the door. A Magnolia placemat creates a base for the arrangement, while flowers, books, and seasonal pieces change its look.

In the guest bathroom, canisters hold bath salts, cotton balls, Q-tips, and hair ties. All the little things that are so much prettier tucked away than left sitting out. Soap sits by the sink, and I’ve tucked a hand towel into a small basket for decor. I haven’t found the right towel holder yet, so in the meantime I just drape a towel over the counter to use. Summer flowers and blue ribbon give way to warmer ribbon and autumn stems when the season changes.

You don’t need an entirely new collection every time the season changes. Start with pieces you can use throughout your home, then bring in seasonal color through flowers, textiles, artwork, and a few smaller details.
That’s what I love most about Magnolia. The neutral floral works from room to room and season to season, while still leaving room to make each space feel like your own.
