🍓 DIY Strawberry Patch Decor: How to Make the Interchangeable Truck & Breadboard Displays

If you love seasonal decorating and a good DIY project, you’re going to love this one! Today I’m showing you how to make two of our most versatile display bases—our Reversible Interchangeable Truck and Interchangeable Breadboard—plus how to paint the Strawberry Patch Insert Kit that fits in both!

These pieces are sweet, simple, and fun to customize. Once you’ve painted the bases, you can swap out inserts for every season. The strawberries are perfect for summer and garden party styling!

✂️ Supplies You’ll Need for the Reversible Truck and Breadboard Display with our Strawberry Patch Insert Kit:

• Reversible Interchangeable Truck Kit Here
• Interchangeable Breadboard Display Kit Here
• Strawberry Patch Insert Kit Here (works with both displays)
• Acrylic paint in your favourite summery colours, I used:

1.  DecoArt: Peony Pink
2.  Fusion Mineral Paint: Buttermilk Cream, Peony, Casement, Bellwood, Chapness & Hazelwood
3. Saman Waterbased Stain: Iron Earth

• Wood glue: Aleenes or TightBond
• Sandpaper
• Magnet & washer (included in kit)
• Velcro dots (included for license plate piece)
• Small paintbrushes or sponges
• Ribbon or embellishments (optional)

Step by Step – How to Make the Interchangeable Truck & Breadboard Displays with the Strawberry Patch Decor Kit:

Step 1: Paint Your Truck & Breadboard Bases

Start by painting your truck sign and breadboard display in the base colours of your choice. The truck is reversible—so paint different colours on each side if you want two seasonal looks. For the breadboard, I love a soft farmhouse white or buttercream yellow for summer! The options are endless!

Let everything dry completely before moving on.

🍓 Step 2: Paint & Assemble the Strawberry Insert Pieces

Now for the fun part—your Strawberry Patch insert kit! Paint the strawberries, daisies, background layers, and lettering in soft pinks, whites, and leafy greens. Let your creativity shine here—this is where your personal touch brings it to life.

Step 3: Add Details & Assemble the Strawberry Insert Pieces

Add dry brushing and comma strokes to accent, glue the layers together to create a dimensional, berry-sweet insert.

Step 4: Finishing Touches

• Use the washer and magnet to help secure the insert inside the truck. This is not necessary for the Breadboard. See photo below.
• Stick the Velcro dot to the mini license plate area so you can swap that out seasonally too.

🪴 Step 5: Style & Display

Now you’re ready to decorate!

• Hang the truck on your tabletop post kit or display it on a shelf or front door in a sheltered area. (If hanging on a door, treat with an outdoor spray varnish like Rustoleum)
• Prop the breadboard on your kitchen counter, entry table, or kitchen nook, like a coffee bar.
• Add a little ribbon, mini garland, or greenery for extra charm.

These pieces work beautifully together—or styled separately throughout your home.
