These terracotta pots have been laying around just waiting to get this finished put on them! I have been thinking about making them look like rustic old cement pots that has an Italian feel to it. Let me know what you think in the comments below. 🙂
As an added bonus we will sublimate some cute tags for our pots!
So let me show you how I gave my terracotta pots a faux cement look and Italian feel. I will list the supplies below and just below that I will post the video link that gives you all the details.
Then I will show you a few ways that I use them in my house, besides just planting them up, but I did do that as well.
Supplies for the Sublimation Tags
Sublimation Files:
Watch the tutorial below.
I am testing the durability of these sublimation tags outside in a kinda sheltered area. I will let you know after the end of the season, how it fairs. 🙂 I am not sure if sublimation ink is protected against UV rays. However I may spray this with an outdoor spray and see if that helps.
Below I just tied on the sweet summer lemon tag I made to this old bottle that I am using as a vase in my dining room! Sometimes changing the smallest things updates your look for your different seasons just enough. I will most likely replace this with autumn tags that I made last year this fall when I decorate. You can actually grab this flower market sign and this lemon tag in my shop, here, if you are not wanting to make them yourself.
Here are a few sneak peaks of my front step for the summer, but I wanted you to see how I used various sizes of these terra-cotta pots that we created on my front step. I will have to water them often as they are tiny and you know how terra-cotta soaks up the water. However they are in a pretty sheltered spot so so far I’ve only had to water them every couple days. There is a blog post coming soon for my summer front door plants and decor, and I will be sure to link it at the end of this one when it is live.
If you were looking for a little birdies shown above, you can see them in my shop here.
