Fall 2025 Dining Room Tour: Cozy Heirlooms & Autumn DIY Touches

Welcome to my Fall 2025 Dining Room Tour: Cozy Heirlooms & Autumn DIY Touches! This year, I’ve styled the room with layers of family heirlooms, vintage treasures, and handmade projects that bring warmth and character to the season. From my grandma’s lace tablecloth to the oak leaf placemats I painted years ago, every detail tells a story. Add in DIY pumpkins, passed-down china, and a few whimsical touches, and this room feels ready to welcome fall gatherings.

The Dining Table & Centerpiece

The table is always the heart of the dining room, and for fall 2025 I styled it with layers that bring both meaning and charm. Draped across the table is my grandma’s vintage lace tablecloth — a piece that instantly adds nostalgia and warmth.

At the center, I created a layered fall display: the oak leaf placemats I painted years ago, a stack of my turkey plates and napkins, DIY jute pumpkins for texture, and a white soup tureen draped with a fall tea towel. I tied velvet ribbons to the soup ladle handle for an extra seasonal detail. Together, these pieces make the centerpiece feel both collected and cozy — a true reflection of the season.

Each place setting carries the theme with turkey plates, pumpkin-shaped bowls for soup or dessert, and my DIY leaf bowl and napkin charms (tutorial available here). It’s a table that feels ready for both everyday meals and family gatherings.

Cabinet, Mirror & Heirloom Styling

Along one wall stands the china cabinet that once belonged to my grandma, now filled with dishes that were originally gifted to my mom — and she has since passed them down to me. I’ve been so blessed to be gifted many beautiful dish sets from both my family and my husband’s family, and I love to let them “take turns” being displayed here. Each season, I change out the cabinet with a new set, and for fall it’s filled with warm-toned patterns that feel right at home with the season.

Above the cabinet, a thrifted mirror serves as the backdrop for a cozy fall vignette. I layered in my old tine tile, a swan planter, an amber bottle filled with autumn florals, and a few small pumpkins. Together, they create a collected, timeworn look that feels right at home for the season.

The combination of heirlooms, handmade accents, and seasonal greenery gives the whole room a cozy, collected feel — the kind of space that feels lived in, loved, and ready for fall.

Beside the cabinet, a vintage high chair holds my mom’s crock, another piece that’s been passed down through the years. I filled it with old kitchen utensils, a touch of fall greenery, and a seasonal tea towel — turning a functional heirloom into a styled fall accent.

Tucked just beside the cabinet is a wooden box with legs, I thrifted, filled with my DIY painted pumpkins and gourds. It’s one of those flexible pieces that can move from room to room. Here it feels right at home adding a rustic harvest touch to the dining room. Last year I had it above my entryway closet. I like to change things up and move things around from year to year to keep feeling fresh. Here’s a link if you want to see last year’s fall home styling looked liked.

Closing Thoughts

This dining room holds so many layers of family history. My grandma’s lace, the cabinet she passed down, my mom’s dishes and crock. All styled together with fall greenery, pumpkins, and handmade touches. It’s a room where memories and creativity meet, making it one of my favorite spaces to decorate for the season.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this peek inside my Fall 2025 Dining Room! Be sure to check out the other rooms in this year’s tour, including my Fall Living Room. Don’t miss the DIY tutorials linked throughout if you’d like to recreate some of these projects in your own home.
