DIY Fabric Easter Carrots

Let’s gather our supplies to make farmhouse chic carrots

  • Drop cloth or another cotton fabric
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Jute or string
  • Quilt batting for stuffing
  • Greenery picks
  • Silkscreen Transfer, Paste & Applicator
  • Wooden tags
  • If you want the ready made kit I chat about in the video below, grab it while you can over here.  It will have a different look but just as cute!!

Let’s get started making our carrots

  1. I like to bleach my drop cloth first.  This is not necessary, but it like the whiter look and the softer feel this gives.  I have a large rubbermaid container that I put outside full of water and a gallon of bleach. I soak the drop cloth up to 10 hours and then transfer to the washing machine for a cycle, hang to dry and then toss in the dryer to freshen up.  You can just toss right into the dryer, but just know it will wrinkle so pull it out and fold right away.
  2. Cut out triangles roughly 9″ wide x 8.5″ long.  I just eyeball it.
  3. You will now apply your design of choice with a silkscreen transfer and chalk paste.  I will post the video below to show you exactly how to do this.
  4. Once your design is dry, hot glue starting at the tip, moving up the carrot.
  5. Stuff the carrot.
  6. Tie off the top with jute or string.
  7. Attach a pre-made tag or make your own with the same technique.
  8. Style & Enjoy!!

Below is the video that shows you everything in detail.

Styling your Decorative Carrots

Now that we are all done making our cute fabric carrots, it’s time to decorate!!

I have a couple options to share with you!

  • Group them in sets of three and stack them with the top carrot displaying a cute tag.
  • Display them them in a chic farmhouse tray.
  • These would be so cute on a spring tiered tray!
  • I placed them at my front entrance on the bottom shelf of my entry table in front of a large coordinating sign, that is leaning in the back corner. So Cute!!
  • Place them in a basket.
  • These would also be so cute attached to a wreath.  If you do this, be sure to send me photos, I would love to see how it turns out.
  • Style them just like in the example of the DIY kitI talked about in the video above.
