Elegant Farmhouse Christmas Entryway
When you first walk through the door, this elegant farmhouse Christmas entryway sets a peaceful and welcoming tone for the season. The soft mix of navy, gold, and greenery flows beautifully into the rest of the home, creating a cozy first impression that feels timeless and calm. Every detail was chosen to make this space feel inviting, layered, and full of meaning.
A Heartfelt Welcome
A hand-painted nativity I painted years ago rests on the antique dresser — a Marketplace treasure that feels right at home here. Nestled in frosted greenery and vintage lace, the tryptic scene adds a heartfelt, faith-filled touch right at the front door. It’s a beautiful reminder of the true meaning of Christmas.
Touches of Blue and Gold
Just beyond the dresser, the bannister is wrapped in a soft-touch cedar garland. One of my favourite artificial styles because it looks so real. I added a few frosted greenery picks and some gold picks I’ve used for years in my Christmas trees — simple finds from Dollarama that add such an elegant touch.
Layers of navy velvet poinsettias and two shades of blue ribbon —satin and velvet —drape along the railing for an elegant farmhouse look that still feels warm and inviting. Vintage mercury glass ornaments are strung along the underside of the garland, catching the light beautifully.
The garland is draped back and forth so it can be seen from both the entryway and the living room. Then trails softly down the end post for a finished, graceful look.
At the base of the stairs, a handmade blue velvet pillow with a gold-glitter Christmas tree design adds a cozy finishing touch to the wooden bench my hubby made me years ago. It’s simple, yet it ties the entire colour story together beautifully.
A Seamless View into the Living Room
As you step up from the sunken entryway, you can already take in much of the living area since it’s open to the space below. You’ll notice an old window from my grandparents’ farm that we turned into a mirror. I’ve draped it with the same soft-touch garland, navy poinsettias, and layered blue ribbons so it ties in beautifully with the railing and dresser below. In front of it, a small stool displays one of the same frosted trees I’ve used throughout my Christmas decor. A charming little accent that sits beside the piano and brings continuity between the two spaces.

A Vintage Christmas Display Above the Closet
Above the entryway closet, a cozy vintage display adds height and texture to the space. My faux greenery Christmas trees are nestled in vintage milk glass lampshades turned upside down. They make the perfect little holders for small trees and add a soft, nostalgic touch to the display.
Beside them sit my DIY textured trees, blending beautifully with the vintage accents and soft greenery. A vintage wooden goose, dressed for the season with a navy velvet bowtie and a small wreath, brings a touch of whimsy and warmth.
At the back, a wrought-iron window grate repurposed as decor creates a lovely backdrop, and two cream-coloured bells hang from it with blue velvet ribbons. A simple detail that ties the entire vignette together with timeless charm.
Looking Back at This Space…
As I stand here and take it all in, I’m reminded of why I love decorating for Christmas. It’s really not about the decorations, even though I truly enjoy them and love changing my home seasonally.
The soft glow of the tree, the shimmer of navy and gold, and the treasured pieces all bring comfort and joy. But the most important part of this season is to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
It’s never just about the decor and sparkle. It’s about creating a home that celebrates comfort, faith, and the joy of gathering with loved ones. Every piece in this entryway has its own little story. From the mirror made from my grandparents’ window to the pillow and nativity. Together, they create a space that feels both personal and timeless — the perfect way to begin the season.
