As the seasons change, there’s something so comforting about stepping onto a porch that reflects the warmth and coziness of autumn. This year, I’m sharing my cozy fall front porch decor with DIY pumpkin topiaries, handmade accents, and pieces I’ve loved and reused over the years. From soft colors to thrifted touches, it’s a look that feels warm, welcoming, and full of charm.
Let me show you around…
These DIY pumpkin topiaries have been on my front porch for about five years now—and they’ve aged beautifully! I love how they take on a slightly different look each fall. This season, I added raffia, different faux leaves, and one of my new handmade resin tags for a refreshed, timeworn, vintage-inspired look.
They sit neatly in white cast iron urns on either side of the front door, with layers of faux leaves, pinecones, and creamy pumpkins gathered at their base for extra charm.
If you want to see how I originally made them and how they’ve changed over time, you can read more in this post about my Fall Front Step Decor from other years.
Instead of a wreath this year, I opted for a woven door basket filled with warm fall florals—creamy hydrangeas, soft rusts, and eucalyptus greens. It brings in a slightly cottage feel and adds a welcoming softness to the door. A handmade resin leaf and acorn tag finishes it off with a personal touch that ties back to the topiaries.
A collection of painted pumpkins lines the porch steps in shades of ivory, bronze, and muted aqua. Most of these have been around for years and gave them a little chalk paint makeover. They blend so nicely with the tones of the season and offer an easy, budget-friendly way to style your steps.
A vintage looking lantern adds just a bit of charm, and I filled it with wood chalked pumpkins & acorns and a chalked tag I made a couple years ago.
One of my favorite pieces is the “Campbell” sign that hangs beside our front door. It was handmade years ago and brings such a personal feeling to the porch. Whether guests are stopping by or I’m just stepping out with a coffee, it always makes me smile.
One little detail on our porch that often gets overlooked—but means so much to me—is our hand-painted mailbox insert. I painted it years ago, and it’s held up beautifully over time. Each season, I swap out the design for something that fits the season—whether it’s pumpkins in the fall, a landscape in winter, or florals in spring.
For autumn, I’ve added a cozy painted scene that fits right in with the rest of our fall porch decor. It’s just a small thing, but it brings a touch of personality and creativity to a very practical space—and I love how it completes the whole front step.
Thank you so much for stopping by and spending a little time with me on the porch today. I hope it gave you a few ideas or simply made you feel inspired to welcome the season in your own way.
