It’s easy to focus on the big rooms when decorating for a new season—but sometimes the smallest spaces are the ones that surprise you most. In this post, Fall Decorating Ideas: Bathroom Styling, I’m sharing how I brought cozy, autumn charm into two often-overlooked areas of the home. With a few thrifted finds, some handcrafted details, and a whole lot of warmth, these spaces prove that fall decorating doesn’t have to be complicated to be beautiful.
This is one of the few rooms in our home that hasn’t been painted white—yet. The warm, spicy golden wall color has its own nostalgic glow, especially when the autumn light comes through. While I do have plans for a full transformation down the road (watch for a future blog post!), this fall (2024) I leaned into the warmth and added simple touches to make this little space feel extra cozy.
The vanity itself is actually an old dresser handed down on my hubby’s side of the family, we turned into a bathroom vanity. I love how the black curves and vintage hardware pair with the modern gold vessel sink and oil-rubbed bronze faucet. A simple white pitcher filled with fall florals softens the space, while my spicy floral soap dispenser and tissue holder from the Spicy Floral Collection bring in both function and beauty.
On the wall shelves, I displayed a few seasonal treasures: printable fall art pieces, a set of DIY sweater pumpkins, that add texture and charm. A tiny carved angel and some faux florals round out the top shelf. Below, a basket filled with rolled towels, white florals, pinecones, and one of my decor tags rests on the toilet tank for an easy, elegant touch of autumn.
I also brought in one of my seasonal hand towels from the same Spicy Floral Collection, which ties in with the rest of the collection perfectly. The soft florals, warm neutrals, and layered textures give this space the feel of a tiny fall retreat—even if it’s just the bathroom.
This little bathroom has served us well just as it is, with its rich golden walls and vintage charm. But it won’t stay this way forever. I have plans for a fresh update soon. I can’t wait to share the full transformation in a future post. Until then, it’s all about working with what we have and adding layers of warmth, one handmade detail at a time.
I hope this little peek into our autumn bathroom inspires you to embrace the beauty of small spaces and fill them with simple, meaningful touches of the season.
With grace,
Kimberly
