10 Ways to Style a Tea Towel in Your Kitchen This Fall

When it comes to fall decorating, simple touches often make the biggest impact. One of the easiest ways to bring cozy seasonal charm into your home is with tea towels. In this post, I’m sharing 10 ways to style a tea towel in your kitchen this fall—each one adds warmth, colour, and a welcoming, cottage-style feel to everyday spaces.

1. Draped Over a Vintage Crock

I know this one’s actually in the dining room, but you could easily do the same in your kitchen—or anywhere. I layered a tea towel over a vintage crock filled with greenery and old kitchen utensils for a cozy, collected look that ties both rooms together beautifully.

2. In a Thanksgiving Centerpiece

For my Thanksgiving table, I tucked a tea towel into a vintage soup tureen—it adds softness and that extra seasonal touch to the centerpiece.

3. On an Accordion Rack

At the end of my island, I tied two tea towels onto a vintage accordion rack alongside a trivet, copper pan, and brass planter overflowing with fall florals.

4. On a Curtain Ring Hook

On the opposite end of the island, I used a large wooden curtain ring (the kind that once held a valance) with a clear 3M hook to hang a tea towel from my kitchen cart—it’s one of those unexpected but charming spots!

5. On a Brass Towel Bar

I love using the brass towel bar on my kitchen cabinet to hang a towel with a vintage cheese grater tied in a ribbon, cutting boards, and a basket full of fall florals and vintage rolling pins.

6. Draped Over the Mixer Bowl

In my baking nook, I draped a tea towel over my stainless steel KitchenAid mixer bowl. It’s a simple way to soften the look of metal appliances and add a touch of warmth and charm to the space.

7. Hung from a Drawer Handle

I also hung a towel from one of the drawer handles on my repurposed Hoosier cabinet—it adds just a little pop of color and pattern to the front.

8. Layered on a Vintage Chair

A vintage chair with a lace doily and a tea towel draped over the back instantly feels cozy. The chair also holds my basket of freshly collected vegetables from the garden—a simple touch that brings a bit of harvest charm into the kitchen.

9. Styled on a Fall Buffet

When styling a buffet or serving cart, I love to drape a tea towel over one corner for an effortless layered look. It’s perfect for a Thanksgiving spread or cozy gathering.

10. Beside the Kitchen Sink

Of course, I always keep one near my kitchen sink for drying hands or dishes. You can even spot it softly in the background of my kitchen photos, draped beside the sink. These tea towels are soft, absorbent, and wash up beautifully—proof that functional can still be pretty!
